That’s It – I’m Done Tweeting!
That’s it – I’m done Tweeting.
After Twitter suspended my account on July 4th, I tried to contact them – without any luck. 30 days later, my account was still suspended – and I had received no reply of any kind, so I decided to create a new account and start all over again.
I put in some hard work, and managed to build a new list of 600 followers. Slowly I was getting back on Twitter track.
This morning, I found out Twitter had suspended my new account too. This time they didn’t even have the courtesy to send me an email to tell me why. I filed a new request, which was marked by their system as ‘solved’ right after I submitted the form.
I will try to send them an email again, although I’m pretty sure no reply will come.
At this point, I really don’t feel like starting from scratch again. I guess this means my Twitter-days are over… It was fun (and profitable) while it lasted, but I really had enough of this.
A tip: make sure you backup your Twitter accounts and followers regularly. Twitter doens’t allow you to re-instate the data , but at least you’ll have an overview of your tweets, and of who was on your follower list.
Tweettake allows you to back up everything in your account (all together or separately) and save it to a .csv file, which you can open with a program like Excell.

Update:
I couldn’t throw away everything I knew, so I decided to create a new Twitter account after all – lol.

That is really strange, and too bad.
Last week Twitter suspended my account too. I contacted them via support email and within minutes my account was restored.
I found that some program was posting duplicate messages to both my twitter accounts. (Duplicate content is not allowed between sites owned by one person, apparently.)
I found an email later that explained this, but I was too ticked off to wait. I did mention something about this action being childish, I think, but other than that, I came out pretty well in it.
Try contacting them again. I have over 4,000 followers and would never trade that for anything, not even a misunderstanding between myself and the people running the programs I use. (Paypal is my “pet peeve”)
Just a thought.
My account was also suspended last week. But when I wrote I heard nothing and still haven’t. I have no clue why unless it was all those annoying “followme” mails I kept getting and could not figure out how to stop.
Oh well… I never made any money with it anyway.
Hey Mieke, sorry to hear that.
That’s messed up!
I also had mine suspended around the 4th of July. I went to support and crafted a long message asking for another chance since I read all the terms and saw what I must have done wrong, pleading ignorance.
Then I got the same thing where it said ticket closed or resolved, right after I submitted it. My accounts were back to normal though.
Then I went to adjust a few tools I was using too much and found out it was happening to a ton of accounts by accident, even some big celebrities.
Well, there’s always friendfeed.
My twitter never get suspended yet, its quite hard to get followers , i am try to play safe so that I am not getting banned.
I am very sorry, Mieke, that your account was suspended.
I have deleted some affiliate links to avoid possible problems.
Tatiana.
Sorry to hear about being suspended.
If you ever find out why let Us know.
Glad your back.

I’m following.
Think of it as an opportunity- if you figure out why you were suspended, and how to prevent it in the future, you can write a report about it, and make money selling it!
