I’ve been Twittering away lately. Ever since I found out about Twhirl -a free desktop client that allows you to post messages to Twitter without having to visit and log in to the Twitter site - I’ve been able to see the fun & benefits of being an active ‘Tweeter’.

To me, Twitter has become more than just a way to promote my blogs & biz: it has proven to be an excellent resource for valuable info & sites, a great way to build relationships with other marketers ánd - last but not least - a channel to get a quick  answer to any questions I have. I found many of my fellow tweeters to be very friendly and always willing to help.

I’m still far from being a Twitter pro: there are millions of things about Twitter and how to optimize my tweets I still need to discover, but I’m learning new stuff every day.

Tools

Twhirl - desktop client for Twitter that allows you to tweet without having to log into the Twitter site. Can also display a  small popup message whenever one of the people you follow posts a new message.

TweetMyBlog- WP plugin to post your new blog posts to Twitter automatically

Tweetlater - free service that allows you to send a welcome message to your new followers automatically, to send out scheduled Tweets. Tweetlater can even send you a note whenever one of your keywords has been tweeted.

Twittersplit - auto- frame your outbound twitter links, so you can profit double. (Example)

Twitter Counter  - show off you number of Twitter followers on your blog

Be A Magpie - Twitter ad network. You can earn money by displaying an ad every x tweets, or you can become an advertiser and have your ad on thousands of related Twitter boards.

Twitstamp - TwitStamp allows you to use your current Twitter status in the form of an image. This means you can post your status on blogs, forums, websites… wherever you want!

Twitter Karma - see a list of all people you follow and/or are following you and do bulk actions (such as follow everyone that follows you)
