Dishonesty all around?

I re-opened my blog; just to get this of my chest – and as a reminder to myself to be careful whom to trust and where to buy…

I just received a message from PayPal in which they tell me they “are unable to investigate claims involving Virtual or Intangible items.” In short: f** you, solve your problem yourself.

I’m not going to share all details yet – maybe this guy has gone on holidays or so – but I recently purchased a package and never received the file I was promised. I’ve been trying to contact the seller ever since, but haven’t received any reply. So – thinking about spam filters and stuff – I decided to send a message via the PayPal site by opening a dispute. Technical issues at PayPal caused it to be a claim instead of a dispute, with the above answer as a result.

I’m still waiting – like I said; this guy might be on holiday or so – but to me the value of the product is long gone.

So; it all comes down to this: when selling digital goods, everyone can just cash in payments without even delivering the product to the customer; since there’s nothing the customer can do about it…

If only I was a little more capable of being dishonest…. I would be rich!!!

Once I earned $150 (which is a lot of money to me) affiliate commission by promoting The Copywriting Secret by Henry Gold – quite a big name, no?! . After 6 months and about 2000 excuses from the contact person (‘The person who takes care of this is on holiday‘; ‘We’re working on the system‘;…) I gave up trying. At that time, I already gave up on the money and I was just trying to get some sort of an apology from them. I believe my last message had something in it like ‘if I’m not going to see the money; be honest about it and just tell me so.’ I would at least have had respect for their honesty…

Sigh!
