Setting your website up for success all begins at home, and before you work to develop offsite marketing campaigns, you need to first focus on optimizing every square inch of your website so that you are able to generate organic traffic from the major search engines.

Organic traffic is the crème de la crème of traffic, as it’s natural, targeted and organic – coming directly to your site after a user enters in relevant keyword phrases that the search engine has identified as being associated with your site.

Once your website is securely positioned within the search engines, you’ll be able to generate unstoppable traffic, absolutely free – and with no further effort required.

Optimizing your website is relatively simple but it does involve editing different areas of your HTML pages. To start, you need to include a title for every page of your site, each one including relevant keyword strings based on what your website is about.
You want each page title to carry a different keyword phrase, so that you are able to rank for various phrases within the search engines.

Next, you will want to include a meta description that includes important information regarding your website. Meta descriptions provide a summary to those visiting your website from the search engines but also help spiders identify what your website is about.

You should also use the <h1> tag throughout your pages. H1 instructs search engine spiders to pay particular attention to text located within the tags, and also helps visitors identify important areas of your site.

Another very important element to SEO is including a site map on your website. What a site map does is helps both visitors and search engine spiders navigate their way throughout your pages and categories, by outlining all of the different areas of your site.

You can create a sitemap very easily by using free services such as:
http://www.XML?Sitemaps.com

When it comes to developing your content so that you are optimizing your website for the search engines, you should pay attention to keyword proximity, prominence as well as the order of your content itself. The prominence of your keyword is based on the first instance of where it appears within your content. A keyword phrase that is used at the end of your content will be considered less relevant than a keyword phrase that appears in the first portion of your content or article.
This means that you need to ensure that you implement your primary keyword phrases into the first half of your content, so that it is given more weight when search engine spiders index your website. Keyword proximity is also very important in terms of search engine rankings because it indicates to the search engines that these keywords are related to one another.

Here are my top ones.

	Status updates:

Update your status regularly, and posts some links to your new posts, web pages or new links occasionally. Your niche posts should be in a 1:3 ratio to your “normal” status updates. Make sure there is a picture on the page you are linking to, because then you can select the picture to be shown in your status update as well. People will see your status updates on their homepage of Facebook when they look through the news and you will generate some nice click to your links this way. (TIP: Don't spam them)

	Post links in groups:

Join a lot of popular groups in your niche and make useful posts on the wall (with your links) and in the discussion boards (insert your links). Posts will stay on some discussion boards for quite a while, and lots of people will see your posts with your links and this will generate good traffic to your sites.

	Create your own groups:

And this is where the POWER of Facebook marketing comes in. Create your own groups in your niche and invite all your friends. Post the link of your groups in all the other related groups on facebook regularly to get people to join your group. Mail your facebook group link to your list, put it in your forum signatures, blog posts etc. to get a good following. You could have hundreds of members in days, and thousands in a few weeks if you are lucky.

These groups will be like your own personal lists that you have and you should manage them just like you would your email autoresponder lists. You can also mass message everyone in your group. Send them useful information with lots of freebies to get them to trust you and open the messages every time. Then slowly start messaging them with amazing offers which links to your sites or affiliate links.

Also remember to put in all your webpage links in your group description, because this will count as valuable back links. Put up photos and videos with links and also post links to your offers in your group. People who join your group for years to come, will see them and click on them.

You can build huge lists with groups like these and message them at will with your offers. This will bring in a huge amount of free targeted traffic to your sites, if you do it right.

	Facebook Fan pages

This is another method that is becoming more popular by the day. It is very similar to Facebook groups and you can create a Facebook fan page just like you do a group, but it has some distinct differences.

Fan pages are used to promote people, celebrities, groups of people, businesses & more. They are created to increase promotion, attract supporters, and generally increase awareness & online presence and of course interaction with customers and potential customers. The 'Marketing' of the person or group being promoted through a Fan page happens in a variety of ways.

	1. When a person 'likes' a fan page, that connection is posted on their wall and then shown in the Home Page feed for others to see. Then friends of that person click on the page just connected with…and so the number of followers grows.

	2. You do not need to be a Facebook user to view a Fan Page. A person may follow a link from somewhere eg. a website and look you up on Facebook from anywhere in the world.

	3. These pages are not private pages…so anyone can access the information on a particular page even if they haven't 'liked' it as such. (If you aren't sure what all this 'liking' is its Facebook's new way of 'becoming a fan' of a page. Where a person once became a 'fan' they now become a 'liker').

	4. Its easy to post a link to a fan page across other Facebook pages…putting the pages name in front of different groups of people.
A page is easier to manage and has less limitations & more options to customise & increase functionality than a group. A page is run by 'admins' who can be changed when required, and allows those who've been added as an admin to make changes and post on the wall of the page & generally manage the page and its happenings.

	The Facebook marketplace

Go to applications and search for Marketplace and join this application. You can now post for free. Give away free reports, and advertise your business opportunities or whatever you like. These advertisements can be targeted to geo location and stay for a long time so it can generate incoming traffic for quite a while if you keep on posting ads every few days. Focus on giving away branded eBooks, because this will generate viral traffic.

	Facebook Videos and Photos

This is a very good way to get your name out there and to get opt ins to your list. Posts loads of videos of yourself introducing your business and tag all your friends in them. Put a niche keyword rich description of your video or photo too. Make sure to give a link to your opt in page. People will see they are tagged in a video or photo and view it. They will see your link and click on it, and will get sent right to your opt in page. This is a very effective tactic that not many marketers are using.

	Create events:

People love joining events and search events to see what is going on the Facebook world. Create an event of a product or squeeze page launch or a webinar. People will join and see your links.

If you use all these tactics you will get great traffic from Facebook and with groups etc. you can build quality targeted viral traffic for FREE this way.

Update:

Another way to drive free Facebook traffic to your blog or website is by adding a Facebook 'Like' button to it.

Facebook has released a tool that generates the iframe code you can use to add the button to your website(s).

If you are using WordPress you can simply install this plugin that will do all the work for you.

The best way to integrate article marketing and video marketing is to first write articles and submit them to article directories, and then turn each of your articles into videos that can be submitted to various video sites.

When you first create the articles, be sure you are using keywords for the titles. These keywords will be critical for the traffic of both your articles and videos. Since articles receive the majority of their traffic from search engines, and videos receive a very large portion of their traffic from search engines, it is absolutely vital to ensure that you’re using good keywords when you create your content.

Articles should generally be between 300 and 500 words. This length is perfect for getting accepted into article directories without being so long that you bore your readers, and without being so long that they make lengthy videos that won’t be effective.

	PowerPoint for Videos

One easy way to turn your articles into videos is to use PowerPoint. PowerPoint lets you create various slides, and then you can put those slides together into a slideshow, which can be exported to video. This can be simple if you already know PowerPoint, but there is a bit of a learning curve.

Each slide in your presentation would be a different paragraph of your article, and you could add special animations, effects, and photos to spice things up.

	An Easier Way

If you aren’t familiar with PowerPoint or other programs that will allow you to create videos, you can try Article Video Robot. This software allows you to create videos from text articles with just a few easy clicks, with absolutely NO video creation experience. There is no learning curve! You just enter the text, click, and the software generates videos instantly! You can even submit your videos right from the interface!

You need great content to be successful. You need to do proper keyword research in order to attract traffic. In addition, you need to give people an incentive to visit your site.

A recent study by Comscore found that YouTube currently accounts for more than 25% of all searches on Google. Additionally, more searches are performed through YouTube.com than through Yahoo!

Video also has the power to covert very well. Some studies have shown that video sites have the power to convert as high as 30%! That’s phenomenal when you consider that standard websites typically convert at only 2-3%.

The major problem most people have with video marketing is the perceived difficulty in creating videos. Many people believe it is incredibly difficult and requires a lot of technical knowledge to create videos, but that isn’t always true. There are easier ways to create videos…

You don’t need to appear on camera. You don’t even need to do the voiceovers yourself. You can actually use computerized voices that sound quite realistic if you don’t feel your voice is appropriate for your videos.

There are many ways to create videos. You can outsource them for as low as about $25 per 30-second video. You can use a program like Flash to create them. You can create PowerPoint presentations and export them to video format. …

When you create videos, you need to remember your keyword research. Video marketing also depends a lot on the keywords you use, just like article marketing.

Keywords are used internally for people who search for something on the video site, and they are also used externally when people search on search engines like Google.

Let’s say you are creating a how-to video that shows people how to knit a baby sweater. You would want to put keywords in the title, as this would be the main thing that would show up in search engines. If your main keyword is “How to Knit a Baby Sweater”, that should be the title of your video.

Most video sites also let you put tags that are like keywords that are used internally, so don’t forget to add those when you submit your video. Additionally, you should include some keywords in the description when you add it.

In my next post, I'll show you how you can turn your articles into videos. Stay tuned!

People just naturally love videos, and they are gravitating toward them in droves.

If you aren’t yet using videos for your online marketing efforts, you are really missing out on a lot of traffic and conversions. Video marketing is incredibly powerful.

In this 3-part tutorial, you’re going to learn how to integrate your article marketing efforts and video marketing efforts to vastly multiply your efforts.

I will also show you exactly how you can turn your articles into videos with the click of a button, seriously! With just one click, you can turn your articles into videos that you can submit to video sharing websites in order to multiply your exposure instantly!

	So let’s get started.

Article Marketing:

Article marketing is one of the easiest ways to get free traffic. Writing an article only takes 10-30 minutes depending on how quickly you can research and type, and article directories make it very easy to get articles to rank well in the search engines.

There are two major benefits to article marketing:

You get direct traffic from your resource box

You get backlinks that improve your search engine rank

Many people only submit articles for the backlinks, and they neglect to focus on optimizing their articles for maximum traffic to their site. The fact is, you can get a tremendous amount of direct traffic through your articles. Sometimes your articles that you submit to article directories will even outrank your own site.

There are four key components to successful article marketing:

	1. Keyword research
2. Well-written titles
3. Good content
4. An enticing resource box

In order for your article marketing to be as successful as possible, all four elements should be working in conjunction. You must make sure to choose good keywords, craft interesting titles that encourage people to click through to read the article, write quality content, and create a resource box that makes people want to click.

If you can do that, you will get a lot more traffic for your efforts than you would if you submitted articles just for backlinks. It only takes a small amount of time to research keywords, write interesting titles, and come up with a great resource box. Take the time to do these things and you’ll be rewarded with more traffic than you ever thought was possible from article marketing.

In the next post, I will discuss some video marketing basics…

I hope that you learned a lot from your last lesson and that you have a better understanding of why it is important to evaluate the salesletter of the Clickbank products that you are going to promote.

In today's we will be talking about commissions, cost and continuity.

As we discussed in lesson one, choosing a profitable product from the Clickbank marketplace to promote involves more than it's gravity score. It also depends on the effectiveness of the salesletter to convert visitors into customers and as we will be discussing today it also involves commissions, cost and continuity.

It is important that you take all of these factors into consideration before you choose a product to promote. After all you will be investing time, energy and possible advertising dollars to promote the product properly. As part of your criteria you will want to consider these things:

	What is the commission?

As an affiliate, you should try to find products that offer a commission of at least $20 per sale. Anything below that amount usually isn't worth your time and effort to promote heavily. Especially if you are planning on spending advertising dollars to promote it. While there are exceptions to this rule depending on what market you are in, it is a good guideline to add to your criteria.

Keep in mind that it will take just as much effort to market a low priced product as it will to market a higher priced product. You will find products in the Clickbank marketplace that range anywhere from few dollars to hundreds of dollars. The key is to find one that meets your criteria and fits well into your overall marketing strategy.

How much does the product cost?

This is important because if the price is set too low not only mean less profits for you it often leads the customer to believe that the product is of little or no value to them. On the other hand, prices set too high can have an impact as well, because it can prevent interested customers from making an immediate purchase. If they have to take time to think about making the purchase chances are they will leave the site and never return.

Continuity is another factor that you may want to consider.

In addition to commission and cost, another thing you may want to consider are products with continuity. Continuity products are ones that offer a monthly membership program to their customers. These are often a great addition to your product line up because they will pay you commissions on a regular basis, usually monthly. They make very nice back end offers as well.

Often these products offer a lower commission rate, however the fact the you will be earning a residual income from them means that you have the potential of making far more over time.

Just like with other products, it takes the same amount of effort to market a product with continuity, so make sure that it meets your other criteria for profitability as well.

As you can see it takes a little bit of time and research when it comes to choosing profitable Clickbank products to promote. But, by taking the time to choose the right product you will save yourself from wasted time, effort and money promoting products that just don't sell.

When it comes to choosing profitable products you need to decide on the best criteria for your business, that includes the proper gravity, a good salesletter, nice commissions at the right price. If you can match up all the factors in your criteria then you can be confident that you've chosen a good product to promote.

In this lesson we will be talking about evaluating the sales letter’s of the products that you are considering.

When it comes to choosing profitable products from the market place it is important that you consider factors other than the gravity. You must take into consideration that gravity scores can be elevated by vendors selling their own products through affiliate accounts, so you can't rely on gravity alone.

The effectiveness of the salesletter to convert visitors into customers will have a big impact on the amount of commissions that you make by promoting the product.

That is why you should take some time and evaluate the salesletter of the product's that you are thinking about promoting. Just because the product has a high gravity score doesn't mean that it will convert into sales for you.

Have a look at the salesletter and determine whether or not you think the product will sell well for you.

Keep in mind that this is the website that you will be sending your subscribers and customers to and it will impact your business in more ways than one.

You should evaluate the sales copy to see how well it's written.

Ask yourself if you would like to buy the product?

Is the copy easy to read, believable and does it point out the benefits of the product effectively?

Look for proof and testimonials.

When someone is considering a product to purchase, proof of results and testimonials from other customers carry a lot of weight when it comes to the decision making process.

Does the product owner offer any type of proof that the product works?

Do the offer any sample results or trial offers?

Are there any testimonials from happy customers?

If they do provide this type of data on the sales page be sure to check it out and make sure it is real. When possible take the time to check out the people that provided the testimonials as well. Make sure that they are real and don't be afraid to ask questions.

Does the product have a good guarantee?

You will also want to see if the product has a good guarantee. Providing a thirty or even sixty day risk free guarantee provides a good impression to the customer and because they can get a full refund they are not satisfied it removes some of the risk associated with making the purchase.

It is also a very good idea to use the product yourself. Especially if you are planning on promoting it heavily. After all if you are going to suggest it to your subscribers and customers you must be sure that it does what it says it will and the only way you can be sure of this is to give it a try yourself.

Look for you next lesson soon. We will be talking about commissions,
cost and continuity.

Over the next days, I’ll be posting a set of easy to follow lessons that will help you learn how to choose the most profitable products from the Clickbank marketplace to promote. So that you can save yourself from wasted time, effort and money promoting products that just don't sell.

Let me begin by asking you this question.

Do you know how to choose a product from the Clickbank market place that you know will be profitable?

When it comes to choosing and promoting Clickbank products it is a good idea to have a solid criteria that you can use to decide if the product is going to be profitable and worth your time and effort.

A few of the key things you should look at are Gravity score, competition, the salesletter, the commission rate and the price of the actual product.

In this first lesson let's talk about the Clickbank gravity score and how it will help you choose the right products to promote.

What exactly is Clickbank gravity? This is a question that continues baffle many affiliates.

According to Clickbank the gravity score is:

The number of distinct affiliates who earned a commission by referring a paying customer to the vendor's products. This is a weighted sum and not an actual total. For each affiliate paid in the last eight weeks they add an amount between 0.1 and 1.0 to the total. The more recent the last referral, the higher the value added.

It doesn't actually have anything to do with the total amount of sales that have been made for a particular product.

In layman terms a high gravity score indicates that affiliate marketers are earning plenty of commissions on sales from the product. A low gravity indicates that there haven't been many sales for the product at all.

So as you can see the actual gravity of a product is an important indicator of how successful a product is selling.

Here is a quick example of how you can interpret the gravity score:

Let's say for instance that the product has a score of 447, that means that 447 affiliates have made a sale for that product within the last eight weeks.

Keep in mind that this doesn't reflect the amount of sales made by each affiliate. It could be that 447 affiliates made one sale each or that three affiliates made 149 sales each. There is really no way to tell for sure. But it can lead you to the conclusion that a high gravity score often means more competitors.

It is important to keep in mind that it will be more difficult to make money from a product that has a large number of affiliates promoting it. A good rule of thumb is to aim for products that have a referral percentage below 65%. This means you will have less competition.
If you don't mind the competition it is perfectly OK to promote products with a higher gravity score. Simply because these products have been proven to be successful sellers and you can be sure that there is a market for them.

Then again, there are lots of extremely valuable products on Clickbank that have a far lower gravity score with less competition. Of course the choice is completely up to you, but I recommend that you keep your product choices limited to ones with a gravity of 20 or higher. This because most products below that just won't make any money for you no matter how much you promote them.

After you have found several products that meet your criteria based on the gravity score you can begin looking at the other variables like evaluating the salesletter, cost and commissions.

By understanding how the Clickbank gravity score works you can be more confident that you are picking the most profitable products to promote.

Make sure you look for your next lesson soon. We will be talking about evaluating the sales letter’s of the products that you are considering.

You have to be persistent and want success. However if you want your blog to do well, you cannot just make a post and forget about it. You have to continue updating your blog and marketing it so that it will become popular and make everyone want to read it.

Interviewing people and posting it on your blog is an excellent way to market it. Just be sure that the people you interview pertain to the market of your blog. You want all of your posts to be relevant, including any interviews that you might do. For example, if your blog niche is internet marketing, and you did an interview with the owner of high traffic internet marketing related site; that would definitely pertain to your market.

If you hear any news in your blog's niche, be sure to post it. Everyone loves news, and the readers of your blog will appreciate you blogging about the current events in your blog niche. Something to keep in mind when blogging about the news is this: the more current the news, the better. No one wants to reread old news, so it is a great idea to try and stay as up-to-date as possible.

Contests are another way to effectively market your blog. Having contests on various things can be a lot of fun, and something that will keep your readers coming back. Everyone loves to win things, and you can make the prize that you are giving away relevant to the niche you are promoting on your blog.

While good content is something that you will need for your blog, you also want to ensure that it is original content as well. You can market a blog with something that is copied and that you do not own the rights. Plagiarism will get you in trouble with Google as well as the person that originally wrote the content. Be sure that all of your posts are ones that only you own the rights to.

Press releases are also an excellent way to market your blog. Sending out a press release or having one made for you is a great idea. You will find that they are affordable for most budgets, and some companies offer package deals.

Comments on a blog are also a very important aspect of blog marketing. You will want to make sure that you always answer and acknowledge the comments that are made to your blog. When you show that you are an actual person that can hold a conversation, you are showing others that you are real and that you really and truly have the best intentions for your blog. Make sure that no comment goes unanswered.

Marketing a blog comes naturally for some and can be a little harder to focus on for others. Another important thing that you will want to do for your blog is to be sure that you find links. Exchange links, get one way links, and ask for more and more links. You can never have enough links to your blog…

Blog marketing is not hard to do. Just be sure that you follow all of the proven and tried techniques that others are talking about and you wont go wrong. Just don’t give up and keep on marketing because it will pay off sooner or later.
If no one goes to your site, it hardly bares a chance of generating an income. Many sites have tried and failed in doing so, and these results to the sites demise. It takes money to maintain an income generating site; it also takes money to make money.

BUT, it doesn’t take a whole caboodle of cash to generate website traffic for your site.

There are many ways to generate free or low cost website traffic without having to spend what you don’t have or can’t afford. Many people have banked on high cost methods and have ended up losing their shirt over it.

Here I present to you four ways to generate free or low cost website traffic that could help your site a whole lot. Even if you only get a small percentage of successful visitors in to client ratio it still works especially if you get a high number of website traffic.

Exchange Links

This is a sure and proven method. Rarely would you see a site where there is no link to another site. Many webmasters are willing to exchange links with one another so that they could produce more public awareness about their sites. You’ll soon see and feel the sudden upsurge of the traffic coming in to your site from other sites.

A major prerequisite in exchanging links with other sites is having the same niche or content as the other site. They should share a common subject so that there is continuity in the providing of service and information to what interests your target traffic.

Exchanging links also boosts your chances of getting a high ranking in search engine results. It is common knowledge that search engines ranks high sites that have inbound and outbound theme-related links. With a good ranking position in the search engines, you will generate more traffic in your website without the high costs.

Write and Submit Articles

There are many e-zines and online article databases on the internet which provides free space for articles to be submitted. If you want to save costs, you can do the articles yourself. There are many freelance writers who are willing to write for you for a small fee, but to save money, it is wise to do those articles yourself (or re-write PLR articles).

Write articles that are themed along with the niche of your site. Write something that you have expertise on so that when they read it, they can feel your knowledge about the subject and will be eager to go to your site. Write articles that produce tips and guidelines to the subject or niche your site has.

Include a resource box at the end of your article that can link them to your site. Write a little about yourself and your site. If you provide a light, information-laden and interesting article, they will go to your site for more.

Make a Newsletter.

This may sound like hard work because of all the articles you may need to use to build a newsletter but on the contrary, this is not so. There are many writers and sites that are willing to provide free articles as long as they can get their name in on your newsletter. This will also provide free advertising for them as well.

As your newsletter gets pass around, you can widen your public awareness and build an opt-in list that can regularly visit your site.

Join Online Communities and Forums

This only requires your time and nothing else. You can share your knowledge and expertise with many online communities as well as your website. You can get free advertising when you go to forums that have the same subject or niche with your site.

Share your two cents and let them see how knowledgeable you are with the subject. As you build your reputation, you also build the reputation of your site, making it a reputable and honest business that could be frequented and trusted by many people.
