I trust that by now, you know all of what it takes to build your mailing list through this sophisticated method widely known as joining Give Away events .

As this ecourse is almost finished, I would like to give you some extra tips. Believe me, you will find them really useful!

Get in soon to profit most!

The sooner you can join a giveaway event, the more you can profit. If you can be the first to send out an invitation to your list, yóu will get the referrals – and the affiliate commissions -, instead of your competitors.

Some giveaways display an active link for your gift during pre-launch. Getting your gift in the list soon is an excellent way to get other contributors on your list.

Be The First To Know About New JV Giveaways: Subscribe To The Instant Notification List

Always use the same gift.

Okay, not really always, but use it for a long period of time. Most marketers and active Give Away junkies believe that they should always offer something new in every event.

While they have a valid point and there's absolutely nothing wrong with it, the problem is that you will find yourself drowned in creating new gifts all the time! This is going to be the case if you decide to participate in Give Away events actively.

Secondly, you will find the issue of “double leads” becoming apparent when the same subscriber to your list downloads your second gift by subscribing to your other list.

When you send a promo email out to ALL of your list, the same subscriber can get annoyed by the same emails being thrown into his or her inbox repeatedly due to the numerous subscriptions – hence the 100% un-subscription!

Besides, there are literally abundance of people online who probably have not heard of you much less download your product so you can confidently comb the net for new subscribers with the same gift. Just change your gift occasionally and sparingly and when you do, be sure you reward your current subscribers first so there's no reason for them to opt into your list again the second time or so.

Always Use A New Autoresponder Account

When you prepare a new gift, make sure everyone can get it. That's why you always need to use a new autoresponder account. If you just change the gift inside an existing one, people who have already subscribed, can't subscribe again to get the new gift.

If you are contributing a free membership, make sure your 'old' members can get the new items too.

Contribute your own gift.

That's right. As in, YOU create it. Of course, you can opt for engaging ghostwriters or use Private Label Content but ultimately, it should be your name on the gift.

Don't carelessly bundle a group of products with Resell Rights due to possible terms violation (unless you're absolutely sure about it).

The encouraging factor about offering your own gift is because of the branding and privilege of being unique, and if you understand the true value of it, even the excuse of having no time seems lame!

Join multiple Give Away events that are held at the same time when possible.

Not only can you build your list faster through this leverage, you only need to send one promo email to endorse ALL events!

But… Don't overdo yourself

Otherwise, your email promotions will be full of sending subscribers to joining Give Away events. And when that happens, your list might just be a haven for freeloaders and phoney leads.

So do it sparingly and at your own wise judgment.

Comb your mailing list database once in a while for phoney leads.

Once in a while, spend some time combing your database for phoney leads. They should be deleted because they can warrant unwanted trouble such as potential theft, troublemakers and possibly hackers!

Since these people didn't want to provide their true details in the first place, there's no say as to whether they can be just as honest later on!

You can save some of your trouble upfront by banning common phoney names such as “abc”, “asdf”, “qwerty”, “zxcv”, “hjkl”, “aaa”, “123”, “abc”, and so on.

You might also want to ban and blacklist some domain names and known email addresses that just places your emails in their junk box, such as *@neverbox.com .

And last but not least…

Don't forget to thank your new subscribers when they join!

Up until now, all we've been discussing is how to build your mailing list through joining Give Away events. Now let's talk about something more interesting… like how to make money from joining Give Away events.

It's already a given that you can make money from:

The Give Away event affiliate program
Most events are offering an affiliate program: you can earn commissions when any of your referrals takes advantage of the host's One Time Offer or upgrades his (or her) account..

The Give Away event offer rotator
These days, most giveaway events offer some kind of upgraded partnership, which will not only provide you with extra gift credits and/or direct download links, but also allows you to add one (or more) special offer.

All submitted offers are added to a rotator and shown to all members after they've logged in, which makes this an excellent way to show your special deal to hundreds of people.

When a member takes up your offer, the profits are usually shared between you, the referring member and the giveaway manager.

Sending promo emails to your list
You can start broadcasting email promos to your mailing list when the new leads are in.

Here are even more ways to cash in, while getting subscribers in the process from the events you're joining:

Your own One-Time-Offer
Prepare your own One-Time-Offer. You can introduce this OTO to your visitors after they sign up and/or before they download your gift

Be sure to offer them 2 options:

buy the offer from you and still download the gift afterwards

	OR

pass the offer to get your gift.

Backend Offer
Slip a good backend offer in your Thank You- (and/or your download) page.
Whether you're having a One Time Offer or not, you can cash on another cash point right here.

Automated Emails
Load a series of sequential emails into your autoresponder, endorsing products to your subscribers.

Affiliate links on your download page

Your download page is an excellent spot to offer some extra freebies that can earn you affiliate commissions (either when people who take up the free offer upgrade their account/purchase the OTO offered after signing up)

Affiliate links inside your product

If you're contributing an ebook or report as a gift, you can still depend on this cash point by putting affiliate links in your written digital product and get paid for some more takers through your recommendations.

More tips will come soon!

	Lesson 3:

The Hot Spots & Places to Look For JV GiveAways to Join

Here's the general rule of thumb : you need to be in the “insider” circle to know when the next Give Away Event is in the pipeline. In other words, you have to be in the know and develop a relationship with other marketers who probably would get the news first.

The real secret to jumping in on the next hard-hitting event is to really have close contacts with would-be hosts of the coming Give Away events.

Here are also some more ways to find out when the next Give Away event is:

Subscribe To Other People's E-zines / Notification Lists

This is generally applicable in the Internet Marketing niche itself. Now and then, some marketers announce an upcoming Give Away event and are looking to recruit new partners.

Often the case, you will be joining a Massive Give Away event. However, as long as there's a chance to build your list at zero cost, why pass it up?

You should subscribe to ezines of marketers whom you know are real Giveaway event junkies (and are in the know).

You can find an up-to-date list of upcoming and active JV Giveaway events at

	http://newjvgiveaways.com

Subscribe to the notification list to be
the first to know about new events!

Join a Give Away Event in Action!

If you detect any Give Away events that are already in progress and it's still not too late for you to join in, you can still try your luck at becoming a JV partner.

Even if you can't make it on the current one, you will do well to ask the host to include you in the next launch or so.

	Participate in Forums

Some marketing forums occasionally have discussions on Give Away events. You can lurk in every now and then to check out the latest Give Away event in the pipeline.

Saty tuned, 'cos I have more tips for JV giveaway contributors coming up!

If you need to re-read lesson 1, do it now.

	Ready? Let's go

Before you start plunging into a JV giveaway event, be sure to have the following essentials checked:

Your Own Mailing List/Advertising Resources

Nobody likes a 'free rider' in a Give Away event. Period. You'll need to promote the event and refer others, just as the other JV partners do.

As a matter of fact, most (if not all) Give Away event hosts used to be very strict about partners having a minimum mailing list size before participating in their event. This has changed, though. Many JV Giveaway hosts don't ask you for your list size anymore.

If you don't already have a mailing list of your own, it's important you find other ways to promote the event, mainly because many giveaways require you to have a certain number of referrals a couple of days after the launch in order to keep your gift in the list. Think about using Twitter and forums to get other people to sign up under you.

People that are not putting up an effort are easily detected and like I said before: nobody likes a 'free rider' in a Give Away event.

SOME 'BLACKHAT' TIPS:

Here are some tips on how you can still use JV Giveaway events to build your list – even if you don't have one yet:

Most JV Giveaway events won't start deleting members before day 2. And since day 1 is the day with the highest traffic, you can still get a number of people to sign up for your list.

Many giveaways (those run with the Giveaway Manager 2 script) will approve and list your product (with an active 'signup' button) once you've added it. If you get in soon, your product will be available to all the other contributors for at least a week (=pre-launch period). (– to get in as soon as a new event opens its doors for contributors, you can subscribe to the giveaway notification list – use the link in my sig to get there)

Back in the 'old days' – - your gift rank was based on the number of people you referred. That has changed – you can now buy your way up. Most giveaways offer some sort of upgraded partnership. These upgrades often include a certain number of gift credits which will move your gift right to the top of the list. Higher gift rank = more exposure = more signups.

Upgraded partners are also allowed to add a special offer to the offer rotator. You could add your squeeze page for some extra exposure/signups.

Your Own Gift

This is yet another critical success factor.

Giveaway events are accepting digital products of some kind: ebooks, software, scripts, membership passes, reports, you name it. It's up to the Giveaway host to decide which products can be contributed.

If you don't have a product to give away, you can surely find one in inside one of the many free membership sites around. (Tips: SpiceUpYourSite.com and ResellRightsWeekly)

NOTE:
Be careful giving away other people's products: always check the license file before you do. Not all products you own the (Master) Resell Rights to can be given away freely.

Of course you're always better off creating your own product to give away: you can give it away in your name and brand it in the process. You don't want your visitors remembering other people while you're going a great length giving them away to build your list!

	NOTE:
take a lot of pride and effort in creating a quality gift. This gift is going to make your first impression good or bad. So don't take it for granted… because people will be downloading it by the masses!

Creating your own gift doesn't have to be hard, however. You can, for example, write a 4-8 page report (easy feat, really) on a topic you know well. If you own a membership site, you can give a trial pass away or even offer a “lite” version. Pretty much the same can be done for software and scripts whereby you offer a limited time trial.

You could also take a product with Private Label Rights and re-work it, making it into your own product.

Auto Responder

I know this pretty much a given if you already own a mailing list. But I want to address a couple of important concerns.

Firstly, be sure to require a double opt-in for your visitors . This is in effort to prevent phoney details being keyed into your signup form by freebie seekers… who also want to take a step further in putting you into trouble such as spam issues. By requiring visitors to confirm their subscription from valid email addresses, you can cut more than a bunch of spam risks at stake.

Secondly, be sure to sign up for a reliable auto responder account . You wouldn't want to use an auto responder that produces a high bounce rate otherwise your list building efforts would be literally wasted! (Personally I've switched to Aweber a couple of years ago, and still consider it one of the best choices I made)

For safety matters, use the first message you load into your autoresponder to send the subscriber the link to download his or her gift.

Landing / Signup Page

This is the page where your would-be subscribers would go to view the full important details of your gift. At the bottom of this page, you also include the opt-in form.

Be sure to include the following details in your landing/signup page:

Information about your gift. Don't forget to include its benefits,

A reminder to your visitor that he or she is required to sign up to your mailing list in order to download the gift,

A short note, saying you will NOT rent, share or sell your subscriber's details,

Another short note, saying that subscription can be cancelled any time!

Your contact address or helpdesk URL. Be sure to include a way for your visitors or subscribers to contact you on your landing page ánd on your thank you page

Thank You Page

Create a page to thank the subscriber for opting-in. Make your opt-in form redirect to it.

On this page, make your new subscriber aware of the fact that subscription must be confirmed, and that you'll be sending the download link by email after the link in the confirmation email has been clicked.

The rest of this page is an excellent spot to add an interesting back-end offer.

Download Page

This is the page you'll be sending people to after they've confirmed their subscription details by clicking the link in the confirmation mail.

On this page, you'll give your new subscriber your download link. Next to the link, make sure you give people a little more information about you and your business.

Make sure you put your download link somewhere at the top of your page, so people will notice it instantly!!

You can fill up the rest of the page with some free bonuses and/or special deals.

Make sure you add your contact address to it!

I've created a template pack you can easily edit with your gift details so you can set up your gift(s) in no-time. Click here to download.

Gift Cover

People DO judge a book by its cover – especially online. Be sure to prepare you gift image at various sizes (large, medium and small) because chances are that the Give Away event host will need one from you to display on the gifts page.

To get an idea of how JV Giveaways really work, the best way to think of it is like a giant ad swap.

How Ad Swaps Work

In a regular ad swap deal, you and another list owner do an ad exchange: you send out each others advertisement to your mailing lists. Mostly these ad swaps are done by list owners with a similar mailing list size.

Usually, you will want to send an ad that encourages the reader to subscribe to your mailing list.

You can call this 'legally stealing subscribers' if you want to. But why wouldn't you, as the average subscriber is subscribed to more than 10-20 mailing lists these days.

While ad swapping is a perfect way to build your mailing list by playing the game of “using subscribers to make subscribers”, the leverage effect is often 1:1 in a real sense.

You can only carry out one ad swap at a time, for starters. And even if you do swap ads with more than one list owner or e-zine publisher, the leverage effect remains 1:1 because you have to send that many advertisements to your list, too, in proportionate to how many list owners you agreed to swap ads with.

But if you want to discover how you can build your mailing list at warp speed , read on:

How Give Away Events Work

As said earlier, Give Away events are almost similar to what a BIG version of an ad swap.

The host of the Give Away event invites partners, who are primarily list owners in the same niche, to contribute a gift.

The gifts can be any kind of digital product: ebooks, reports, audio/video products, membership passes, software, scripts, …

You, as one of the partners, prepare an opt-in page for visitors to sign up to your mailing list to download your gift. So in a real essence, anyone who wants to download your gift must opt into your mailing list first.

The host of the event then adds all the contributed gifts to one page or member's area . This is where the visitors will go to download the gifts of their choice. When they click a link of a gift, it will bring them to the individual partner's optin page.

	NOTE:

When you think about it, the gifts are never offered totaly free: visitors must 'pay' for them with their email address. That's why it's important you give your new subscribers the option to cancel their subscription to your mailing list at any time.

Okay, so that's EXACTLY how you're going to build your mailing list after all.

But where DO these visitors come from?

Like ad swaps, Give Away events are really using subscribers to make subscribers.

On the launch day and during the limited time event, you and other partners are required by the host to endorse the Give Away event to your individual mailing lists.

In other words, you are going to invite your subscribers to the Give Away event to download all the provided gifts at zero-cost. With the host and other partners doing the same, it will be a massive gathering of traffic at the website where all the gifts are being pooled.

The host can decide on rewarding partners AND visitors for promoting the event, like giving them a commission on every referred sale of the one-time-offer that is usually shown after initial signup. As a result, many visitors will also promote the event to their mailing list, which will create an endles stream of visitors.

In this collective effort, as long as your gift is displayed there with a link to signup for your mailing list to download it, and people are interested in it, you can receive plenty of signups in a short time span!
