Creating An RSS Feed For Any Page

Filed Under (How-To) by Mieke on 24-05-2008

After re-designing The JV Giveaways Directory, I was looking for a way to add an RSS feed to the page. Mostly because this would help me avoid having to log in to Aweber to send out a message every time I added a new event. Google to the rescue. ;o) A short search taught me there are many step-by-step tutorials on how to create a feed for your page online. Going through the list, I found out I had to edit the code for every single link on the page. Wow, that would take ages… But then I bumped into

Feed43

Feed43 is a free service that allows you to build a feed for ANY page on the web, without having to make any changes to the source code. Just what I was looking for!

Avoid The Yahoo Pitfall!

Filed Under (General) by Mieke on 21-05-2008

A couple of days ago I received a message from fellow marketer Tom The Toolman about his site being unrightfully flagged by the Yahoo Saerch engine. This is a real bummer and has probably costed him thousands of dollars over the last couple of months.

When he wrote yahoo to get more info about the issue, they told him they base their decision on info they get from McAfee, and that any decision is final. McAfee and Yahoo are of course are blaming it on one another, write yahoo they say you have top talk to McAfee, write McAfee and they tell you to contact Yahoo… It’s the classic circle jerk…

Now he’s asked to let everyone know what yahoo is doing so they can avoid this pitfall…
This short video will explain everything to you and now you can hopefully prevent this from happening to you or anyone else you may know…

The Coolest Internet Marketing Tool Around!

Filed Under (Uncategorized) by Mieke on 14-05-2008

If you could see inside your hard drive, what would it look like?

This is what mine used to look like:

IM-Index

But that was a long time go…

I think it must have been the very first product I was a beta-tester for… and there couldn’t have been a better one to choose. IM-Index, the ultimate organizing tool for internet marketers!

Sigh…. I don’t know how I would have survived without it.

;-)

If you have lots of downloads and project files on your hard drive, IM Index will allow you to organize all your internet marketing projects and information with ease. And if you are new to the game, the IM Index will provide you with not only a map of where to save all your files on your hard drive, but an entire blueprint of how to get started.
.
And now Alex Goodall has just brought out a new version of this amazing tool!

JV Giveaways & OTO Policy

Filed Under (Uncategorized) by Mieke on 10-05-2008

Just yesterday I signed up to become a contributor in the Economic Stimulus Giveaway. For the first time ever, I upgraded my account. I wanted to check out such an upgraded area from the inside for a long time (I decided to set one up in the 2nd episode of The Niche Giveaway and want to see how others deal with it), but since I refuse to pay $77 or even $37 to get in, I never had the chance before.

The reasons I did upgrade this time were simple:

  • Brad & co charge only $17
  • Most certainly there will be a load of signups
  • I’ve just released Hotsale 2, and all the extra traffic won’t hurt

;o)

Being able to add a second gift and getting direct access to all the downloads are nice extra’s, but of minor importance to me.

Don’t Go! This Is Still My Blog!

Filed Under (Uncategorized) by Mieke on 05-05-2008

As you can see, my blog has undergone some major changes.

Due to circumstances, I had to re-install the entire blog and I thought I’d change the design while I was at it. Unfortunately, that appears to be a lot harder than I thought it would be. No, don’t get me wrong, installing a new template is piece of cake. It’s finding the right one that has kept me up all night…

Google lists hundreds - no thousands of free WP templates. For an indecisive person like myself, that’s not a good thing… ;-)

Anyway, I still haven’t decided yet, so it’s quite sure the blog will look entirely different the next time you visit. I thought a little warning would be in place - I don’t want you to click away to another site, because the page doesn’t look familiar.

    JV Giveaways Calendar Widget

Filed Under (Uncategorized) by Mieke on 03-05-2008

In between all the other projects I’m working on, I finally managed to create an update for my JV Giveaway Widget.

It took me a while, but I finally found a calendar script that had all the features I needed.

Here’s the new widget - add it to your site now:
(Please give it some time to load)

The colors still need some tweaking, but I guess you get the basic idea.

    Any suggestions are welcome!
