With everythng going on, I’m glad I don’t believe in conspiracies and things like that ;o)
I’m still recovering from the server crash that made that I had to re-build my entire eshop and re-upload all my downloadable files, and now I find another server to be down. I’m pretty sure I have backups, this time, but still…
The server that hosts PLRGroupie has been down for about a week now (I also have some eBay stuff on this server. Luckily, that’s about it)
I have sent a huge number of messages to the host, but haven’t received any sort of reply.
I was (am?) paying quite a lot of money for this webspace, so this time there’s no need to tell myself that’s what you’re getting when you go for cheap hosting. It appears to be of no importance whether you pay loads of money or just a few dollars/year…

And it’s not the amount of sales that rocked my world, although I hope it will soon ;o)
It was the fact that it got noticed by Ian Del Carmen, and that he’s promoting the tool on his blog, that made my day.
Don’t get me wrong - I’m not guru-ing nobody ;o)
It’s just… in spite of the fact that it seems like lots of people don’t think high of Ian’s business (personally I only have good experiences), he was around when I first started out. It were mostly his products and tips that got me started.
This makes I can’t help feeling a bit honoured now he’s promoting one of my creations.
… and i just needed to share that feeling before I would have bursted!

I should have decided this long ago, but I’m closing the doors to Toolbox4Success.
After the server problems back in August & September 2007, the site needed to be updated. At that time, I was right in the middle of creating AdFactoryPro , and I decided to wrap that one up first. Unfortunately that took longer than expected.
Now, after the recent server crash, I’m so terribly busy uploading all the files again (I’m trying to keep everyone happy, but I don’t always succeed), I won’t have time for Toolbox4Success.
So I decided it would be better to close the site entirely.

There are some people that love to get online and snoop around your website to see what you have hidden inside your file folders.
The sad part is, if left unprotected it’s as easy as going to eBay. Unlike going to eBay though, they won’t have to pay one thin dime for anything they want that you’ve got.
The term “snooper” isn’t reserved for only people. Nope. Because search engines like Google excel at the act of snooping. They do this so they can index your pages throughout their own system. But, because they are merely machines, for lack of a better term, doing their jobs.
Basically, they don’t know the difference between your product download page and your blog. What I mean is, they see them all as content references they can index into their system.

Slowly, everything is falling back into place. I started re-building my shop - I already have 5 products in there :o) . I won’t re-open it until there’s a decent number of products in there. But I hope that day will come soon - Stay Tuned!
With all the problems I faced recently, I really needed a way to get organized. Luckily I stumbled upon ‘Task manager Pro’
Features:
- ability to track 20+ different tasks/projects
- ability to flag tasks as incomplete/complete
- ability to flag tasks as High, Normal, and Low priority
- ability to add additional information to each task
- ability to schedule program to open up at different time intervals (once every 15 min, once ever 30 min, once every hour, once every 6 hours, once every 12 hours, and once every 24 hours)
- ability to store a Summary file of all tasks for your records or to print out
- ability to hide Completed tasks for easier view of what still needs to be worked on

Just a short post, ‘cos the emails and helpdesk tickets telling me about downloads that won’t work are filling my mailboxes faster than I can answer them.
I’m re-uploading files as fast as I can, but I’m no Superman - nor is my machine or server. Please have a little patience, I’m doing what I can to get everyone the files he/she has payed or subscribed for!
Jee, Chad, you don’t know what you’ve done to me… :o(

It appears my backup contained everything but the folder with my uploaded files.
So, I won’t be bored these next couple of days (weeks?). I’ll try to re-upload everything as soon as I can.
This also means I have to re-build my eshop from the ground up (I’ve checked the database: there were 250 products listed in the store). I’m not really sure if I will, though. I’ll see what happens when I go along.
Please see the lesson there is in this all: don’t make the same mistake I did and take your time to make proper backups of all your sites and uploaded products! You never know what will happen…

Just when everything seems to go like planned…
This morning I noticed my webshop at script-n-softwareworld.com wads down, so I contacted my host. Just now, I received his reply, which started with the most awful words anyone with an online biz can hear:
Do You have A Backup?
This is the third time I lose everything that is on a specific server. I’m glad I learned my lesson the first time: I now have accounts with 4 or 5 different hosting companies, so if something like this should happen, I don’t lose everything. But still…
My entire webshop, with all my digital downloads… gone. It’ll take ages to find the files on my hard disks again, not to mention the enormous amount of time and bandwith I’ll spend on re-uploading.
